Chisel
- For sedimentary (e.g. sandstone) and weak metamorphic rock into which the tool penetrates
- Concrete
- Trenching & Bencing
Moil Point
- Used for hard rocks or reinforced concrete
- Generally suitable for splitting
- May slip during hammering; therefore point must be stabilized
Blunt
- Used for breaking large rock pieces in quarries
- Crushing slag
- Ground compression
